XCA4000, the 'World's No.1 Crane': A Game-Changer in China's Wind Power Hoisting Industry
Publication Date: 2025-09-05

In the field of wind turbine erection, the XCMG XCA4000 wheeled crane is spearheading industry transformation with its exceptional performance. This super-equipment, hailed as the ‘world's largest crane,’ has once again demonstrated its prowess amidst the rugged mountains of Guangxi, successfully completing wind turbine installation and showcasing the extraordinary capabilities of China's high-end equipment manufacturing.

Confronting complex mountainous terrain, the XCA4000 executed heavy-load relocation in T1 configuration. Its ‘6+2 dual-power drive’ system navigated steep slopes and unpaved surfaces with remarkable agility, traversing them as if on level ground. Its modular assembly design proved particularly noteworthy: the 6-section, 85-metre main boom could be stably assembled within 1.5 hours, substantially reducing labour intensity and operational risks.

The installed turbine stands 125 metres tall. Operating with an 85-metre main boom and 60-metre wind turbine boom configuration, the XCA4000 precisely positioned a 76-tonne hub and 150-tonne nacelle. It efficiently completed the 107-metre, 34-tonne blade installation with seamless precision throughout the process.

Since its global debut in March 2024, the XCA4000 has continually pushed performance boundaries, setting multiple engineering records. Over ten units are now deployed across multiple provinces, establishing itself as China's flagship super-equipment for wind turbine erection. It persistently expands the frontiers of hoisting height and complexity, propelling the industry towards new heights.
